This site is my way of organizing my varied interests, hobbies, studies, and businesses. I have always had a difficult time in deciding what I want to do for the REST of my life. If I’m lucky that could be a long time to find myself forced into something I don’t thuroughly enjoy doing. For this reason I’ve always tried to keep as many doors open to the future as possible. This is probably at least part of the reason that I have changed majors so many times in my college career. I have studied Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Networking, Computer Programming, Culinary Arts, Photography, Philosophy, and Political Science. I have finaly settled on Philosophy and Political Science as my majors and plan to complete my bachelors degrees in May of 2010. However, I don’t want to loose my science aptitude as I focus my studies in the arts which is why I work in computer repairs and plan to attend a few math and science courses in the future, just for fun. You may now begin to understand why Philosophy has been such a good fit for me, I enjoy the study of everything. My most difficult challenge in school has been choosing what to focus my studies on and the same is true in by professional life. I have had to force myself to focus on no more than two or three courses of study at a time and have decided to turn my attention to Philosophy and Political Science at school while learning language and teaching skills by tutoring ESOL students with the Buncombe County Literacy Council as a volunteer. On the professional side of my attentions I have decided to focus on building my computer repair business (Jones PC Repair) and start a photography business while working with the local non-profit M@IN to provide rural internet service on an as needed basis as a subcontractor. In addition to serving as a place to connect these varied interests this blog will also serve as a journal of sorts and contain various other interest of mine as they arise. As an example of this you will find a few posts dealing with the lifestyle changes which allowed me to loose 30lbs in the first four months of 2009 and become a healthier person. Check back for updates often as I am constantly trying to improve myself physically, academically, professionally and personaly.
